Dr. Horton: A Leader in Orthodontic Excellence
Dr. Horton, a proud Hawai’i native, has provided exceptional orthodontic care for over 30 years, delivering personalized treatment with a warm, patient-centered approach. She graduated Cum Laude from the prestigious Tufts University School of Dental Medicine, earning her Doctor of Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) degree. She then pursued advanced training at Harvard University, where she completed a Research Fellowship and a Postdoctoral Certificate in Orthodontic Specialty. Furthering her expertise, she also undertook a Postdoctoral Research Fellowship at the renowned Forsyth Dental Center, a leader in oral health research. Additionally, Dr. Horton earned a Master of Science in Health Services Administration from Harvard University, equipping her with the leadership skills to contribute meaningfully to the field of orthodontics.
A trailblazer in her profession, Dr. Horton made history as the first female president of the Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists and later served as president of the Hawaii Dental Association. She remains dedicated to mentoring future orthodontists, advancing her profession, and promoting Hawai’i as a premier destination for professional events.
Her dedication to excellence has earned her numerous accolades, including the 2015 Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists Annual Session Honoree Award, the Hawaii Dental Association President’s Award (2013, 2016), and recognition as one of Honolulu Magazine’s Best Dentists in Hawaii.
Dr. Horton is actively involved in multiple esteemed professional organizations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, Pacific Coast Society of Orthodontists, Edward H. Angle Society of Orthodontists, Hawaii Society of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, and Hawaii Dental Association. She also contributes to leadership and education through affiliations with the International College of Dentists, Omicron Kappa Upsilon Honorary Dental Society, the State of Hawaii DCCA Dental Advisory Committee, and the American Association of Orthodontists Foundation.
Beyond her professional achievements, Dr. Horton is an avid traveler and fly fisher who cherishes her island home. While her global experiences have enriched her life, she believes there is no place like Hawai’i and continues to give back to her community through leadership and volunteer efforts.
